THE PETANQUE COURT
The ONLY indoor Petanque court in the southern hemisphere,
and it's FREE at anytime for our guests!
Petanque, or Boules (French Bowls), is a game from the South of France. It is particularly popular in the French Riviera, but it is actually played almost everywhere in France. Pretty much like cricket is in Australia.
It consists in throwing the metal bowls, quite heavy - 750g, and putting them as close as possible to the jack. It can be played by 2 to 4 people. Teamed or not, as you prefer.
The Petanque court at French Touch is made of sand and is slightly shorter than the official ones, but is enough to spend some good time and discover the tradition.
APERO-PETANQUE NIGHTS EVERY WEDNESDAY
APERO = $5 DRINKS (SELECTION OF BEER, WINE AND PASTIS)
PETANQUE = PLAY FRENCH BOWLS WITH YOUR FRIENDS
The perfect way of living a full French experience is to combine the game with aperitif (snack and drinks before lunch or dinner). You can play with friends or family while having a cold beer, a glass of wine or the typical Pastis.
Pastis is a refreshing anised-flavoured spirit, which has to be diluted with cold water, similar to Absinthe. Pastis is the traditional way to accompany Petanque, a must try!
